For over twenty-five years, we at Kabul have been serving our customers deliciously authentic Afghan cuisine. Our success comes directly from our love and passion for these amazing, eclectic foods. Although Afghan cuisine borrows dishes and ingredients from East Asian, Indian and Middle Eastern menus, it maintains its own very distinctive flavors. Our meat, rice, dairy and other dishes are hearty, aromatic and delicately spiced—not overly spicy. Afghan chefs take pride in balancing spices and herbs to create dishes that that contrast and complement each other, with no one element overpowering the others. And, oh, our amazing spices! Coriander, rosewater, cinnamon, mint, turmeric... One of the first things you notice when you enter our dining room is the tempting aromas wafting from the kitchen.

Afghan meals often center around a meat dish and a plain or seasoned rice accompaniment. Meat lovers will adore our Kabab-E-Teka, which is juicy, marinated chunks of beef charbroiled on a skewer, served with Pallaw, or flavored rice. Another customer favorite is Qabili Pallaw, which is considered the nation dish of Afghanistan. And no wonder, because it's a work of culinary genius. We take seasoned lamb and cover it with Pallaw, raisins and carrots. The way the flavors work together is pure synchronicity.

More Info

Ordering a variety of appetizers for your table and sharing them is a great introduction to our menu. You'll love our Mantu, which are steamed dumplings filled with ground lamb and chickpeas. Aushak are another kind of dumpling, these filled with green onions and topped with meat sauce and yogurt. Our sambosas are related to the samosas of Indian cuisine, but Afghan sambosas are filled with hearty lamb.

There is so much more to our menu: Kadu, or sauteed pumpkin (you've never tasted pumpkin like this!), other vegetable and vegetarian dishes, cardamom spiced tea, wines and beers, and a heavenly selection of desserts. Although we fully expect to be here another twenty-five years, creating our favorite dishes for customers old and new, you deserve to experience Kabul Afghan Restaurant right now! We're looking forward to your visit.
